Abstract

Glomangioma are benign vascular neoplasms arising from the modified smooth muscle of the glomus body. They are relatively rare in the head and neck region, and are even rarer in the nasal cavity. Microscopically, glomangioma include small and large vascular spaces lined by a narrow endothelium surrounded by layers of cuboidal or spindle cells with rounded uniform nuclei in a loose stroma. Unusual location and the difficulty of preoperative pathological confirmation can lead to misdiagnosis of malignancy. We report a case of glomangioma of the nasal septum in a 45-year-old male who was treated with complete surgical excision. There is no evidence of re-currence after 2 years of follow up.
